|Prairies||PRAIRIES is the new and sixth SFX library from our series of high quality and amazing nature recordings by Emmy-winner and nature recording genius Gordon Hempton. Hempton has searched the globe for more than three decades to record nature at its most pristine.
Prairies are among the most efficient bio-acoustic systems in the world for converting the sun’s energy into sound. Because the day is often windy (which interferes with clear sound propagation), species had to evolve a song structure for increased recognition under windy conditions which you’ll only find under these circumstances.
This library supports your potential: with more than 5 GB exceeding 5 hrs and a total of 105 files of high-quality material, you’ll surely find what you need when your project calls for stunning spacious acoustic impressions of wide fields.
The collected bio-acoustic treasure of PRAIRIES includes for instance various indigenous animals such as a wide spectrum of songful birds, buzzing insects, howling coyotes or chirping prairie-dogs. The PRAIRIES library naturally also comes with a generous range of wind recordings: gusting, blustering, softly blowing, breezing, roaring through the typical vegetation of this area. As special features, the library holds weather phenomenon recordings of grass fire and distant thunder rolling in.
The Soundminer Metadata has notes on species ID, when to use, and geographic location.
|Thunder & Rain||This collection provides everything you need to produce the perfect storm–22 isolated thunders, including close strikes, resonant peels and distant rolls; plus 35 different rain intensities, and nine storm recordings. There’s one entire, hour-long rainstorm (61 min.) and one complete thunderstorm (41 min.) for quickly finding just the sound you need at the length you want. None of these thunder and rain files appear in the Essentials Collection. SoundMiner® readable metadata include: description, type of substrate, and geographic location.||Quiet Planet||66||3.6||√||Weather||$199.00||48||24||2||–||WAV||–|
|Waves||Waves are among the most universally appealing of all nature sounds. They range from the gentle wash of spring tide that gently tinkles coastal seashell shards to winter’s thundering onshore stampede of white-maned giants. This carefully recorded collection of 111 loops is classified by wave size and beach substrate (solid rock, boulder, pebble, sand) for fast and accurate sound design. Lake ripples, wave-tossed boulders, seawater spouting through lava tubes, even the roar of a sandy beach from a mile away—they’re all here. Metadata provides valuable information such as description, geographic location, and helpful tips on how to use a particular file to achieve best results (SoundMiner® readable). Includes two valuable guides: Sound Designing with Waves to unlock the true power of waves for Sound Designers and How to Record Waves for field recordists who are ready to explore.||Quiet Planet||111||5.42||√||Water||$199.00||48||24||2||–||WAV||–|
|Winds||This collection of 130 carefully recorded wind sounds captures a full range of intensities from zephyr to raging storm in natural settings and built environments. These recordings sound different than those in other sound libraries which use artificial sources. Quiet Planet offers a nuanced collection of true winds with details like the rustling of leaves, the whistling hiss of pine needles and the deep roar of expansive deserts. These details facilitate richer, subtler and more intimate and evocative sound design, thus more compelling listening experiences. Metadata (SoundMiner® readable), include: type of substrate, geographic location, intensity, plus suggestions on using particular sounds to achieve the best results.||Quiet Planet||130||5||√||Weather||$199.00||48||24||2||–||WAV||–|
