I had just recently learned about Vancouver Film School graduates Aditya J. Yadav & Kartik Kulkarni’s field recordings. They’ve created a new Web shop, Bombay Sonic, and have 3 economical sound fx collections now available. I’ll briefly share details about the three new sound libraries today.
As you’d expect, Hits and Whoosh (606 sounds, 922 megabytes, $32.00) is a sound design library featuring over 1,053 clips. The hits include impacts on metal, ice, flesh, rubber, asphalt, glass, water, and much more. The whooshes are predominantly air swishes, and include singles, swirls, and more at various speeds.
Note: this sound library is no longer available.
Mechanical Wave provides field recordings of six types of snowmobiles in Ski-Doo (80 sounds, 1.39 gigabytes, $25.00). The clips feature onboard engine recordings of a variety of speeds and intensities. There isn’t a SoundCloud preview for this collection yet, but you can hear a sample on the product page.
